s(ART)urday!TM is an online art session scheduled (you guess it, on Saturday!) for kids to engage with art by and with people of color.
The 30-minute online classes are an opportunity for all kids registered in the program to experience first-hand the power of representation in art.
Participants build up knowledge of a pivotal artwork by and with people of color through learning and creative thinking exercices that tap into their cultural fund of knowledge. The group facilitator create a virtual space where kids engage in age-level appropriate conversations about the many identities of people of color around the world.
Kids.Think.Art uses art as a catalyst for change. During our programs, participants develop critical thinking skills that are core to defining their systems of believes and actions.
Here are our goals for each session:
- Present curated artworks by and with people of color
- Create a safe virtual space for kids to explore issues specific to people of color around the world
- Guide age-appropriate discussion on major topics enlightened in a specific artwork
- Build up critical thinking, communication, and listening skills
The sessions take place on Saturday December 4, 11 and 18, 2021. The cost is $30 for the 3 sessions.

The art that features people of color in positive ways is wonderful. My kid is learning so much and I can’t help it but listen in too every now and then. The kids learned about artwork I didn’t even know about. It’s such a rich experience. The community building is amazing as well.
